Once you can see why your dog turns aggressive you can look for these situations in the future and make sure your dog does not get taken in. For example if your dog is out with you on a run and you see a child on a rollerblades coming at you or every time a child goes past you and your dog and your dog has barked, snarled or lunged for them, at a time before, you just merely cross the road and walk on the opposing side before the youngster comes anywhere near you.

You move from the center of the track to the side and get your dog into a sit position getting him into a calm state before the kid gets closer to you. Turn his attention away with a tasty, attractive bit of meat and keep him that way until the kid has walked past you.

When he stays settled give him the treat along with lots of positive reinforcing stimulus. If you stick to this then your dog will before long start to follow you more and will stop distressing about trying to defend both you and him from everything that comes near him.

Remember his aggression and all other dog behavior problems are normally a signal he is upset and is defending himself.
